What a roller coaster of emotions for Women’s Football League team Jewels SC of Tobago on Saturday.
They had to say goodbye to one of their faithful servants, the PRO of the club Akinola Winchester who unfortunately passed.
They still had a game to play, the Wolf third place playoff against Tobago Chicas. Despite taking a 20th minute lead through Alliyah Baptiste, Jewels pressed for more.
Jewels showed why they were the Tobago Conference winners with a dominant display at the Dwight Yorke Stadium.
Chicas tried to fight back in the second half with their free kick pushed to the side.
Both teams struggled in their semi-final matchups against their Trinidadian opponents which may warrant a change to next season fixtures.
Congrats to Jewels SC for taking the 1-0 win over Tobago Chicas to finish third in the 2026 Women’s League Football.
