Interim National Senior Women’s Team Head Coach Kenwyne Jones is backing this country’s women’s footballers for success over the next two years.
The T&T women began their training camp in Santo Domingo today after arriving in the country.
Jones sees a gap in T&T’s readiness for the matches ahead but says the Dominican Republic friendlies are another step in preparation for the National side.
Jones’ interim appointment expires on November 30th but he remains focused on women’s game.
The former National captain says aside from the World Cup Qualifiers, the team is also anticipating the Women’s Gold Cup in July, the Women’s Nation’s League in the same month, the 2023 Women’s World Cup, and the 2024 Olympics.
He says the world is experiencing a boom for women’s football and he’s anticipating T&T becoming part of the global women’s football conversation.
