Forty one athletes are hoping to make their respective qualifying standards at the first of four NAAA’s Preparation Meets at the Hasely Crawford Stadium this weekend.
The Junior athletes are competing in order to be considered for selection to this country’s teams in the last three Meets of 2021.
Pandemic restrictions have effectively cancelled the local athletics calendar and today, athletes competed without a crowd and, in some cases, against the clock.
This weekend’s exercise is significant as it allows a rare opportunity for the athletes to gauge their progress going into competition.
