The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service has seized a significant quantity of cocaine following a coordinated vehicle interception exercise in Freeport during the early hours of Thursday.
Shortly after midnight, officers acting on a hot-pursuit alert intercepted a silver Nissan B-15 along Roopsingh Road and Joyce Road South.
The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled into nearby bushes, evading capture despite extensive search efforts involving multiple police units.
A search of the vehicle uncovered 72 individually wrapped packages of cocaine, weighing nearly 78 kilograms and valued at approximately three-point-one million dollars. Identification documents recovered from inside the vehicle have provided strong leads into the suspect’s identity.
Police say investigations are continuing.
