A 58-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a toddler.
The accused, Neville Simon of Tarodale Ste Madeleine, has been charged with the murder of one-year-old Siriah Williams.
Simon was also charged with maliciously wounding his wife, Michelle Williams and the common assault of Nikitak Williams. The alleged incident, during which the baby girl was killed, took place on September 19th.
The 58-year-old man was slapped with the charges following advice received by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard.
The police report states that baby Siriah was in the arms of her grandmother who was seated in the gallery area of their home when they were attacked.
It’s alleged the accused was brandishing a cutlass and dealt the deceased a fatal chop to her head. Two others were also injured during the incident.
Mr Simon is expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate virtually, on September 27th.
