Heritage Petroleum Company Limited (Heritage) continues its response to the reports of the scent and sightings of oil in the vicinity of Rangie Nanan Drive, Tarouba. The company completed the removal of all contaminated soil as a matter of urgency, and has maintained consistent investigations and monitoring, since the initial reporting of the incident.
Air quality testing is being vigilantly conducted by the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI), as an ongoing precautionary measure, to ensure safe levels are being maintained.
Heritage personnel continue to make themselves accessible to nearby residents, keeping them informed and addressing any concerns. Access to medical services has also been made available to residents, should they require such support.
The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI), the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) and all other relevant parties and regulatory agencies, have been notified and remain engaged in the ongoing response efforts. Heritage remains committed to ensuring that all appropriate response, monitoring and remediation measures are implemented and will continue to provide updates as required.
