Minister Of National Security Inspects Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) System At The Maximum Security Prison

On June 1st, 2022, Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds, conducted an inspection of the new and technologically enhanced Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) System at the Maximum Security Prison at Golden Grove, Arouca, accompanied by Commissioner of Prisons (Ag.) Mr. Deopersad Ramoutar.

The upgrade of the CCTV System at the Maximum Security Prison is one of the major initiatives being implemented by the Ministry of National Security to transform and modernise surveillance within the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service.

During his visit, Minister Hinds was provided with an overview of the full capabilities and operations of the CCTV system. He also had the opportunity to interact with the Prison Officers who are attached to the control room and monitor the CCTV system.

Minister Hinds and Commissioner Ramoutar discussed continued enhancement of surveillance infrastructure within the Maximum Security Prison, as well as ongoing efforts to implement further upgrades at the prison facilities.

The Minister was also accompanied on his inspection by Permanent Secretary (Ag.) of the Ministry of National Security Mr. Gary Joseph; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Ag.), Ministry of National Security, Ms. Deokie Sintra Maharaj; and Project Manager, Ministry of National Security, Mr. Mark Lutchman.
