Ministry Of Foreign And CARICOM Affairs Expresses Solidarity With Colombia And Ecuador In Aftermath Of Earthquakes

The Government and the people of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago express their firm solidarity with the Governments and the people of the Republic of Colombia and the Republic of Ecuador in the aftermath of powerful earthquakes that struck the region.

We note with concern the reports of significant seismic activity throughout Colombia and Ecuador. The Government of Trinidad and Tobago remains mindful of the vulnerability of our region to natural disasters and shares the anxiety of our neighbours during this challenging period of assessment and recovery.

The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs wishes to assure the public that, at this time, we have not received any reports of nationals of Trinidad and Tobago being affected by the earthquakes. The Ministry continues to monitor the situation closely through our diplomatic missions in the region.
