– Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Roshan Parasram announced that the country has recorded another 6 cases of the Delta Variant, 5 in Trinidad and 1 in Tobago, marking the island’s first confirmed case of the variant. Dr. Parasram indicated that the 5 cases in Trinidad are spread across the counties of St George West, St George Central, Victoria and St Andrew/St David.

– Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh stated that once a restaurant decides to participate in the TT Safe Zone Initiative, ALL persons entering the establishment must be vaccinated. Unvaccinated patrons wishing to purchase and take food away can only do so on the outside.

– Minister Deyalsingh also indicated that because Food Courts do not have single owners responsible for all the establishments within, they will not be allowed to open for dining at this time.

– The Health Minister provided an update on vaccination figures and stated that to date, 42% of the population have received one dose of a two dose vaccine and 37.5% have completed their vaccination regime.
