Motorists who are caught driving vehicles that are not inspected could face a fine of $2,000 and six demerit points.
Transport Commissioner Clive Clarke says the fine is in accordance with the Motor and Vehicles Road Traffic Act.
Commissioner Clarke reiterates there is no moratorium on inspection stickers at this point in time, and he’s encouraging drivers to visit Testing Stations and have their vehicles inspected to ensure it meets the criteria for what is required by law.
Commissioner Clarke says recent joint road exercises carried out by the Licensing Division and the Trinidad and Tobago Police are an opportunity to inform and educate persons about what is wrong and what is right.
