PM Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC Congratulates Bahamas’ Leader On Re-election

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC is extending congratulations to Bahamian Prime Minister Philip Davis and his Progressive Liberal Party following their victory in the May 12th General Election.

MESSAGE OF PRIME MINISTER THE HONOURABLE MRS KAMLA PERSAD-BISSESSAR, SC, MP, ON THE RE-ELECTION OF PRIME MINISTER PHILIP DAVIS AND THE PROGRESSIVE LIBERAL PARTY OF THE BAHAMAS

On behalf of the Government and people of Trinidad and Tobago, I extend sincere congratulations to Prime Minister Philip Davis, KC, MP, and the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) on their victory in the General Election held in The Bahamas on May 12, 2026.

Prime Minister Davis’ re-election represents a historic political achievement, as he becomes the first Bahamian prime minister in nearly three decades (since 1997) to secure a second consecutive term.
I also extend sincere congratulations to the people of the Bahamas for the peaceful, orderly, and democratic conduct of this election.

Trinidad and Tobago values its enduring relationship with the Bahamas. As Prime Minister Davis and his administration embark upon this new term, we stand ready to further strengthen our partnership in pursuit of greater economic opportunity, shared prosperity, and the continued development of our peoples.

May God continue to bless and guide Prime Minister Davis and his government as they embark upon this new term of national service, and may the people of The Bahamas continue to prosper in peace, unity, stability, and progress in the coming years.
