Police To Patrol 15 Schools

Students who commit acts of violence within or outside of the school compound will be reported to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service for further investigation and action.

The Education Ministry says it came to this agreement in collaboration with the TTPS and noted that students involved in altercations from April 19th to present, will also be reported to Police.

The Ministry says these measures have been taken while the Inter-Ministerial Committee compiles its report, focusing on updating the existing school discipline matrix and incorporating activities to encourage positive behavioural choices in students. It also confirmed that police officers have already instituted increased patrols in and around 15 schools, especially at the end of the day.

The Ministry hopes these measures will maintain law and order among students.
