Following a strong CPL season with the St Lucia Kings, Trinidad and Tobago’s Kamil Pooran has been rewarded with his first call up the the West Indies Senior Men’s Team.
This comes after Cricket West Indies announced two limited over squads for their upcoming tour of India.

Cricket West Indies has named its squads for the upcoming three ODIs and five T20 Internationals against India, scheduled from September 27 to October 18 across eight cities.
The ODI side, led by captain Shai Hope, retains the core group from recent series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand. John Campbell returns after recovering from a hamstring injury, while Ackeem Auguste misses out due to surgery, replaced by Jewel Andrew. Shimron Hetmyer will join only for the T20 leg after an extended recovery period following the CPL.
The first two ODIs will conclude the qualification cycle for the ICC Men’s 50‑Over World Cup, though the West Indies are already confirmed for next year’s qualifying tournament. Head Coach Daren Sammy emphasized the importance of the series as preparation for the 2027 World Cup, saying: “Playing against the top team in the world presents us with a chance to fine tune and improve our performances.”
On the T20 front, rising star Kamil Pooran earns his maiden call‑up after scoring 273 runs at a strike rate of 159.64 for the St Lucia Kings in the CPL.
Quentin Sampson also returns, while all‑rounder Jason Holder has been rested. Sammy noted the squad reflects a long‑term vision, aiming to build a strong core ahead of the 2028 T20 World Cup.
The team departs the Caribbean on September 21st, arriving in Trivandrum, India on September 23rd
