Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC held a bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
During the meeting, both leaders engaged in fruitful discussions on several areas of mutual interest, including trade and investment, air transportation, cultural exchange, and reparations.
The talks focused on strengthening ties between the two nations while exploring new opportunities for economic growth, collaboration, and people-to-people connections.
A major outcome of the meeting was the signing of an Air Services Agreement between Trinidad and Tobago and Ghana. The agreement is expected to enhance air connectivity, facilitate business and tourism opportunities, and pave the way for closer engagement between Trinidad and Tobago and the African continent.
Both leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and fostering stronger diplomatic and economic relations between their countries.
