San Juan East Side Symphony Retain Single Pan Championship Title

After an intense musical showdown, San Juan East Side Symphony Steel Orchestra successfully defended their title as Single Pan Champions for another year.

Performing in Position #21 in Saturday’s National Panorama Single Pan Final at the Queen’s Park Savannah, the steelband delivered a commanding performance to secure back-to-back glory with Duvone Stewart’s arrangement of “Jumbie” by Machel Montano. This victory marks the band’s ninth win in the Single Pan category. Last year, they captured the title with “The Guns,” also arranged by Stewart.

Placing second in Saturday’s Final was La Creole Pan Groove, with Chord Masters Steel Orchestra rounding out the top three spots.

This year’s competition featured 25 talented steel orchestras, each bringing the vibrant sound, creativity, and spirit of steelpan to life, making the event a spirited celebration of the artform.
