Seven T&T Cricketers Join High-Performance Camp In Antigua

Seven Trinidad and Tobago cricketers are among 22 rising stars taking part in a high-performance camp in Antigua, the latest step in the region’s preparations for the 2027 ICC Under-19 Women’s World Cup.

A two-week high-performance training camp began on August 17th, just two days after the Rising Stars Women’s Under-19 Championship wrapped up, and Cricket West Indies wasted no time moving these players straight from competition into preparation.

Representing Trinidad and Tobago are Jessica Davis, Brianna Harricharan, Shriya Jairam, Jannah Mohammed, Sian Ramnarine, Samara Ramnath and Amrita Ramtahal.

Selection came down to more than just performances on the field. CWI’s High-Performance team also weighed age eligibility for the 2027 ICC Under-19 Women’s World Cup, tactical awareness, temperament, fitness, and squad balance.

High-Performance Manager Dwain Gill says the quick turnaround was deliberate, keeping the assessment process alive and building momentum with the players while the experience is fresh.

The camp runs through August 29th, covering technical, tactical, physical and mental development, plus education sessions geared toward life on and off the field.

Leading the coaching group will be the Senior Women’s team assistant coaches Ryan Austin and Shane Dowrich, and West Indies Academy Head Coach Ramesh Subasinghe.
