T&T Under-19 Women’s skipper Shalini Samaroo is one of six local players selected on a shortlist of 22 players preparing for the ICC Women’s U19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa.
Samaroo led the Trinidad and Tobago team to the final of the CWI Rising Stars U19 Women’s Championship in July and was vice-captain of the West Indies team that toured the USA in August.
She is joined by wicketkeeper batter Shunelle Sawh, Djenaba Joseph, Maria La Foucade, KD Jazz Mitchell, and Kenika Cassar.
The West Indies Rising Stars Women’s Under-19 team are due to have a training camp and trial matches in Trinidad in October before playing an away-series against India in November as part of the preparation plans for the ICC Women’s Under-19 World Cup South Africa in January 2023.
