‘Social Vaccine’ Needed To End HIV/Aids Stigma

Trinidad and Tobago has joined the global clarion call to end HIV/AIDS as a public health challenge by 2030.

One powerful tool is education, and the Ministry of Labour is currently conducting a Survey on HIV Knowledge and Attitudes in the Workplace as part of their strategic plan.

Assistant Manager of the Ministry of Labour’s HIV Workplace Advocacy Unit, Yolanda Simon, encourages boosting awareness to banish social stigma.

Ms. Simon said there is hope that their work will have a positive effect on expected social and health policy and be reflected in their online HIV Knowledge and Attitudes in the Workplace Survey.
