Sport Leaders Pay Tribute As Nation Mourns Eddie Hart’s Football Legacy

Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Phillip Watts is today expressing condolences on the passing of former MP Eddie Hart.

In a statement to TTT Sport, Minister Watts notes that Trinidad and Tobago is mourning the loss of a true patriot and a cornerstone of our sporting culture.

He says Eddie Hart was more than just a name on a league, he was a visionary who understood that sport is the most powerful tool we have for community transformation and youth empowerment.

As condolences continue to poor in following the passing of Eddie Hart, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, David Nakhid lauds the pivotal role his league played in the development of young people.

Nakhid would have featured in the league for various clubs, including the likes of Santos, in the 1980’s.

“On behalf of the East-West Corridor Football League, on behalf of the UNC, our Honourable Prime Minister Kamala Pesard Bissessar we extend condolences to the family of Mr Eddie Hart,MP Eddie Hart, who has served the East-West Corridor for over three decades, four decades, um, by having the Eddie Hart Football League, which was a major, major catalyst in, in the, in the careers and lives of many young people throughout the East-West Corridor.”
