Tottenham’s hopes of achieving survival in the English Premier League were dealt a devastating late blow on Saturday when Brighton and Hove Albion rescued a 2–2 draw in the 95th minute.
Spurs appeared on course to end their winless league run, which extended to 15 matches, and move out of the bottom three when Xavi Simons gave them a 2–1 lead with 13 minutes remaining.
Instead, Tottenham remain only one point away from safety with just five games remaining, with relegation rivals Nottingham Forest and West Ham yet to play.
