Domestic violence continues to be prevalent throughout Trinidad and Tobago, and the Women’s Arm of the Heliconia Foundation for Young Professionals (HFYP) added its voice to the conversation.
In a webinar on Sunday, Vice President of Membership, Dr. Annalese Percy, said most times when abused people are ready to speak, it’s too late.
Domestic Abuse Survivor, Camika McLetchie, shared her experiences and how she overcame domestic violence. She was abused by her husband for 20 years. She said leaving a violent relationship doesn’t happen overnight.
If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence and would like to hear more about Ms. McLetchie’s story, you can view the full webinar on the Heliconia Foundation’s Facebook page.
