Team TTO Shines At ITF World Junior Tennis Tournament

Trinidad and Tobago’s young tennis stars have stormed into the ITF World Junior Tennis Tournament with commanding performances, solidifying their status as the top seeds in both the Boys’ and Girls’ Divisions.

On the opening day of competition, TeamTTO’s U-14 squads delivered emphatic victories, proving why they are the teams to beat.

The boys’ team left no room for doubt in their clash against Bermuda, with Chris Khan and Josiah Hills putting on a clinic in singles. The duo dropped just one game combined across both matches, serving up a dominant double bagel special.

The dominance continued in doubles as Josiah Hills partnered with Oli Harragan to seal the tie in style, securing a straight-set shutout to complete a flawless team performance.

Meanwhile, the girls’ squad faced a tougher test against Guatemala, but they rose to the occasion. Makeda Bain and Cyra Ramcharan set the tone with impressive singles victories, showcasing their talent and composure.

In doubles, Bain teamed up with Cherdine Sylvester for a thrilling comeback victory. After dropping the first set, the TTO duo showed resilience, fighting back to win a nail-biting super-tiebreaker 10-8 and clinching the tie for their team.
