Community mass vaccination and communication drives are being ramped up in Tobago.
At Thursday’s COVID-19 Media Briefing, Secretary of Health, Wellness and Family Development, Tracy Davidson-Celestine, noted the only way to combat the increase in COVID-19 cases is for the continued vaccination of the population.
The Secretary noted that 70% of the Tobago population must be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity and return to a normal way of life.
According to the Secretary, the solution is a direct, ‘rootsy’ approach to combat vaccine hesitancy.
The Secretary said the aim is to vaccinate 300 persons per day in order to meet inoculation targets.
