T&T, EU Sign MOU To Tackle Transnational Crime

A joint project geared to minimising transatlantic crime in illicit drugs and trafficking is entering Phase V.

The Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds signed off on the Seaport Cooperation Project (SEACOP) today, in collaboration with the European Union, Europol, and the European Border Coast Guard Agency.

As Trinidad and Tobago signs the Agreement, the country is poised to benefit from strengthened capacities of existing and new joint maritime control units.

Minister Hinds announced that another protection programme, this time of airports, has been approved by the Cabinet and is well under way in the Aircop project, geared to protecting the interests and people of Trinidad and Tobago.
