The Trinidad and Tobago Under-14 boys opened their 2026 Caribbean Football Union Under-14 Challenge Series with a draw against Puerto Rico today at the Cap Cana Sports City in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
The Randolph Boyce-coached outfit looked comfortable on the ball in the opening minutes of the match and won a free kick close to the touchline in the attacking third of the pitch. The ball was well floated in and expertly met by Captain Hasheem Salandy to make it 1-0 T&T in the 5th minute. They took that lead into the 35-minute halftime break.
There were opportunities to extend the lead for T&T, but instead there would be an equaliser for Puerto Rico four minutes into the second half when goalkeeper Jean Paul Barrimond was wrong-footed after a shot from atop the area.
1-1 is how it would stay to the final whistle.
The T&T Under-14s next face Haiti at 12pm on Tuesday.
