T&T Social Worker Sherna Alexander Benjamin Featured In NASW 70th Anniversary Project. 

Trinidad and Tobago’s very own Sherna Alexander Benjamin is the only Caribbean national featured by the National Association of Social Workers in its 70th Anniversary Oral History Project.

The recognition highlights her decades of work in social justice, domestic violence prevention and human rights advocacy across the region and internationally.

Benjamin is the founder of the Organisation for Abused and Battered Individuals (OABI) and serves as Vice President of the Committee of Experts for MESECVI within the Organization of American States.

She has also received several honours, including the U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Gold Medal and Trinidad and Tobago’s Medal for the Development of Women (Silver).
