Trinidad and Tobago’s hopes of qualifying for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil came to an end on Friday at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
This came after the Senior Women’s National team were defeated 2–0 by El Salvador in their final Group F match.
T&T, who entered the match two points adrift of top spot in Group F of the Concacaf W Qualifiers, needed a win in order to advance to the next qualification phase.
However, despite a close chance to open the scoring by T&T’s Nikita Gosine, the home side were undone by two goals from Brenda Ceren, sending El Salvador through to the next round and winning the group with nine points.
