The Trinidad & Tobago Automobile Sports Association (TTASA) has achieved a major milestone by securing a one-star environmental accreditation from motorsport’s world governing body, the the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
The accreditation recognises TTASA’s commitment to responsible environmental management, with new initiatives being introduced at the Frankie Boodram Wallerfield International Raceway, including improved waste disposal, recycling practices, safer handling of automotive fluids and energy efficiency measures.
TTASA President Ashton Eligon hailed the achievement, adding that receiving the FIA One-Star Environmental Accreditation is a significant accomplishment and confirmed the Association’s commitment to achieving its two-star accreditation in 2028.
The FIA. Environmental Accreditation Programme was launched in 2011 to help motorsport and mobility stakeholders measure and enhance their sustainability performance.
