Residents of the Vance River community now benefit from new lighting infrastructure at the Vance River Recreation ground, installed through the T&TEC Public Lighting Programme.
The $860,000 premier upgrade, described by T&TEC General Manager Curvis Francois, includes 48 1500-watt floodlights specially designed for night-time activity.
MP for La Brea, Stephen Mc Clashie, shared a long list of sporting heroes that emerged from the community, including former national footballer Avery John, and is hopeful that this new capacity will nurture the potential of the youth.
Minister of Public Utilities, Marvin Gonzales, further encouraged the Vance River Community to use the space for meaningful transformation.
