TWCU Credit Union Launches Digital Portal As It Marks 76 Years

As it celebrates 76 years in existence, TWCU Credit Union Co-operative Society Limited is embracing innovation through its newly launched Loan Application & Membership Portal (LAMP).

President of the Credit Union, Andrea Bedeau, says the digital transformation is geared towards attracting a new generation of members while it continues to cater to its current membership.

“This initiative is about improving the membership experience. It is about creating easier access to loans, simpler membership registration, and more efficient service delivery for both existing and prospective members. More importantly, it is about removing barriers, we want our members to have the ability to interact with the society in a faster, smarter and more convenient way, whether from their homes, workplaces or mobile devices.”

Systems Administrator David Boodram, through a live demonstration, explained that members can now complete and submit loan applications online. However, he says, LAMP is just the beginning of what’s to come.

“We are actively exploring solutions to improve further accessibility for members with disabilities, for members who are visually impaired, who may face challenges accessing financial services, another part of that vision is the inclusion of a fintech solution to all our members, especially our entrepreneurs, it will provide a cashless system, probably the first of its kind, within the co-operative movement.”

As TWCU Credit Union Co-operative Society Limited celebrates 76 years in existence, Mr Boodram noted that it is now poised for an innovative future.
