The Water and Sewage Authority (WASA) has responded to media reports regarding a landslip at Pluck Road, San Francique, assuring that plans have been submitted to the Ministry of Works and Transport to alleviate the issue in the shortest possible time.
According to WASA, via press release, the area is known to be landslip-prone and covers an extended section of the roadway. The release continued explaining that land movement over the years has resulted in frequent ruptures of the pipeline infrastructure, as well as higher reporting of leaks during the Rainy Season.
Plans were submitted to the Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT) for the relocation of the distribution pipeline in the area of the landslip. Discussions will also be held with the Ministry as works will include road rehabilitation plans.
