Progressive Democratic Patriots Political Leader Watson Duke has expressed confidence in the Kamla Persad-Bissessar-led central government.
During a press conference at the PDP’s office in Tobago, Mr. Duke noted the United National Congress’ mantra is a promising one.
“Which is when UNC win everyone wins and she keeps repeating. I would like to say on that mantra alone there is hope not only for me, but for the man is by the roadside who is begging for meal right now. He has hope that if things are to develop then I should no longer begging on the road for a meal, given one year, two years.”
Mr. Duke also noted he is moved by the statements made by Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar regarding her expectations for her Ministers which he described as “tough words.”
“She is saying if any of her Ministers are not performing they will be met with swift retribution. Those are not just fighting words those are doing words and I believe that she means business and she will not be blind sided to one man’s desire for a quick fix at power but rather to the nation of Tobago’s desire to getting it right.”
