Windies Lose 2nd Test

The West Indies hopes of regaining possession of the Sir Frank Worrell trophy came to an end today with a 133-run loss to Australia in the second Test in St George’s Grenada.

The coveted symbol of Test Match supremacy between the two nation has been in Australian hands since 1995 and is set to remain there after the visitors won the three-match Test Series 2-0 with a game to spare.

Set 277 for victory after the Aussies closed their second innings on 243, the West Indies could only muster 143 all out as they succumbed to some masterful fast bowling from Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, as well as the spin of Nathan Lyons.

34 from Captain Roston Chase was the highest score for the West Indies, with 24 from Shamar Joseph being the next best tally.

The series now moves to Jamaica for the final match beginning on Saturday.
