The West Indies romped to a eight-wicket win in the third of three T20 Internationals in Kingston to avoid a whitewash against New Zealand.
The Kiwis won the toss and elected to bat first and were reduced to 3 for 57 in the 9th over. New Zealand toiled as Odean Smith and Akeal Hosein put on the pressure. Smith ended with figures of 3 for 29, Hosein took 2 for 28. Dominic Drakes and Hayden Walsh took a scalp apiece as the tourists ended their 20 overs on 145 for 7.
Windies reached 102 before losing their first wicket – Brandon King going for 53. Shamarh Brooks top-scored with and unbeaten 56. Rovman Powell’s 15 ball, 27-run cameo included a midwicket six to seal the victory.
King was named Man of the Match in front his home fans.
