Police Arrest Man For Possession Of Firearm And Ammunition In San Fernando

Officers of the San Fernando Police Station arrested a 25-year-old man following the discovery of a firearm and ammunition during a warrant operation on Jamadar Street, San Fernando.


At approximately 10:00 PM on 29th April 2026, a team of officers, including Cpl Madhoo, PC Jointe, PC Kailah, and PC Seecharan, observed a male individual of African descent, approximately six feet
tall with a plaited hairstyle, standing near a parked vehicle. The man was seen discarding a multicolored side bag into the vehicle upon noticing the police presence.


The officers identified themselves, and the suspect of 13 Bay Road, Bamboo Village, La Romain. Examination of the bag revealed a black metal object resembling a Beretta firearm with a magazine,
along with 12 rounds of ammunition resembling 9mm cartridges.


The suspect was arrested at the scene and is expected to be charged for Possession of Firearm Possession of Ammunition. He was conveyed to the San Fernando Police Station, where PC Seecharan
is continuing enquiries.
