The streets of Point Fortin came alive this week as Next 99.1FM kicked off Borough Day celebrations with its annual Pavement Lime on Thursday night.
The event pumped high energy and local talent into the south-western peninsula, as the station took the party straight to the people to kick off the festival weekend.
Next 99.1FM took the party directly to Point Fortin, hosting its annual Pavement Lime, ahead of Borough Day celebrations.
The night was charged with music, laughter, and high-energy performances, as patrons gathered to enjoy home-grown entertainment.
TTT Limited’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Kimoy Thomas-Williams, said the event not only highlights Next 99’s emerging on-air voices, but also serves as the perfect lead-in to the weekend’s Borough Day activities.
“Of course Next 99 plays a pivitol role in that because we have artistes that will come to perform and also it is an opportunity for persons to just relax and after a hard day’s work. It’s Thursday so it takes them into Friday and then the weekend is full of activities as well. So it’s a nice pathway into the weekend.”
She also hinted at more events on the horizon, noting that public feedback is helping to shape the future of Next 99’s Pavement Lime experiences.
“A lot of persons have been asking for us to have a party, a proper party so that is definitely in the cards, you know it’s something we have to flesh out because as I said Next 99 is new, it’s vibrant, the persons involved they’re full of ideas and they’re here to stay.”
