AG Armour: No Attempt To Downplay Role In Brian Kuei Tung Case

Attorney General Reginald Armour says he was not attempting to downplay his role in former Finance Minister Brian Kuei Tung’s case.

In a media statement on Tuesday, the AG says he was on vacation in Europe when the request for the affidavit regarding his involvement was was made by a US court. He adds he had a limited amount of time to submit his documents and since the case took place 14 years ago, he was depending on memory.

AG Armour insists his intent was to correct his misstatement, but no opportunity was given to him.

The Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago has called for the AG to step down from his post because of this matter.
