For yet another year, the Education and Training sector received the largest allocation in the 2022 National Budget.
The sector received an allocation of $6.886 billion.
The subvention is once again needed, as the Ministry of Education continues to rollout virtual learning in the school system.
From September 2020 to date, the Ministry of Education spent its allocation on school repairs, and construction, and devices for students who were without.
And with the physical re-opening of Secondary Schools for Forms 4 to 6 students today, monies were spent for outfitting schools with sanitisation stations, and sinks.
Prior to the budget presentation Chairman of the Association of Denominational Boards of Education, Sharon Mangroo, called for the sector to receive a sizeable allocation, if not the highest.
