Cargo Operations At Port Affected By Strike Action

The Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago has confirmed that its daily activities are being affected by ongoing industrial action from staff members.

In a statement, the Authority indicated that cargo operations at the Port of Port of Spain are heavily impacted, with no vessel operations and limited deliveries taking place at the container terminal. However, it assured the public that inter-island ferry services remain unaffected, and those operations are continuing as normal.

The Port Authority also stated that it is “working diligently to minimise further disruptions for all stakeholders.”

On Wednesday, scores of workers walked off the job citing a range of issues, including health and safety concerns and stalled wage negotiations.
