Dengue Deaths Now At 12, Confirmed Cases Remain At 1,503

One more death has been attributed to dengue fever but the number of confirmed cases of dengue has not changed over the last week.

The Ministry of Health’s weekly update indicates that there are 1,503 laboratory confirmed cases and 12 deaths.

The Ministry’s August 30th update reported the same number of confirmed cases but only 11 deaths.

In addition, the Ministry of Health says as of September 4th, 851 Yellow Fever Notices have been issued to property owners to clean up their premises and of that number 43 have been singled out to have legal proceedings taken against them for failing to clean up their properties.

The Ministry reminds that dengue presents with fever, headaches, pain behind the eyes, muscle and joint pains, as well as a skin rash, nausea and diarrhoea.
