The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is responding to an unverified report concerning possible threats to embassies, diplomatic facilities and Government buildings.
Police say the information is being treated seriously, as intelligence and national security agencies work to determine its credibility.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Suzette Martin, has instructed divisional commanders to put the necessary operational measures in place.
The TTPS says it is working closely with intelligence and national security partners to assess the report and safeguard the public.
At this time, police stress that the threat remains unverified.
The public is being urged not to speculate or circulate unconfirmed information, particularly claims about the identity, affiliation or location of any person or group.
Police are asking citizens to remain calm but alert, and to report any suspicious persons, vehicles, packages or unusual activity.
The TTPS says further information will be provided if necessary and when it is operationally appropriate.
For now, police are urging the public to remain vigilant, rely on official information, and avoid spreading unverified reports.
