Vice President of the Trinidad and Tobago Scrap Iron Dealers Association (TTSIDA), Erros Seejattan, is encouraging members of the Association to become registered. He said this is just one of the laws governing the scrap iron industry by which members should abide.
During a meeting which included dealers, van collectors, and affiliates on Saturday, Mr. Seejattan said in many cases, some of them may be breaking the law without knowing it. But if members are registered with the TTSIDA, they would be advised of the laws accordingly.
One scrap iron dealer agreed that all members must do what is right for the sake of the industry.
Another called on the Association to address the issue of stealing within the sector, since all of the dealers are being wrongfully accused of illegal activity.
Meanwhile, Vice President of the Trinidad and Tobago Automotive Dealers Association, Rhondall Feeles, encouraged the members to show the value and contribution they have made to society.
