It was a tough day for T&T’s junior cyclists at the UCI 2022 Junior Track World Championships in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Phoebe Sandy was eliminated in Heat 5 of the Junior Women’s 1/8th Final round of competition. Sandy finished her Heat in 12.123 to advance 12th overall but lost her match up with Australia’s Emma Stevens. Stevens won that race in 12.771.
And Devante Laurence finished sixth in Heat 4 of the Men’s Junior Keirin first round. Laurence advanced to the first round Repechage but finished fifth in Heat 2.
The championships continue tomorrow.
