The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is reminding cable providers that intellectual property rights must be secured to continue airing U.S. free-to-air stations locally.
The Authority says providers who fail to obtain the necessary rights for NBC by April 30th will be required to remove the channel from their line-ups.
This follows the removal of FOX in December 2025, after similar requirements were not met.
A phased timeline has also been outlined, with deadlines set for ABC by August 31st and CBS by December 30th this year.
The Authority warns that failure to comply could negatively impact Trinidad and Tobago’s international trade relations and partnerships.
Officials say discussions have been ongoing since 2015, but broadcasting without proper authorization remains a breach of intellectual property laws.
