CAL Restarts Montego Bay-Fort Lauderdale Flights

Caribbean Airlines has reintroduced its non-stop service between Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The airline said the reintroduction reaffirms its commitment to connecting Jamaicans with home. The launch gives those waiting for years a direct route home.

Among those seizing the opportunity to fly directly to Jamaica with the new Caribbean Airlines route was 108-year-old Nesta Leeloo, who was born in Jamaica.

Caribbean Airlines CEO Garvin Medera said the airline reached out to her family to ensure that Ms. Leeloo was on the inaugural flight.

On March 11th, the airline resumed daily flights on the Montego Bay-Fort Lauderdale route, offering 1,323 seats per week in each direction. The decision to restart this service was based on customer feedback.

With over 300,000 Jamaicans living in Fort Lauderdale and surrounding areas, this route provides a seamless travel option for those looking to reunite with family, friends, and the vibrant culture of Jamaica.

Mr. Medera explained that Ms. Leeloo was an example of what the airline is striving to achieve.
