Government Seeks Simple Majority To Pass Revenue Authority Bill

Finance Minister Colm Imbert has confirmed that Government is seeking to pass the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority Bill 2021 with a Simple Majority.

He says Government was able to make an adjustment to the Bill, which no longer required a Special Three Fifths Majority to be passed.

But the Opposition is objecting this move, saying it will be challenged in the courts if passed.
