Discussions highlighted the need for closer coordination among Government agencies, private-sector organisations, training institutions and other stakeholders to create inclusive, sustainable and results-oriented pathways for youth development.
Permanent Secretary Penelope Bradshaw-Niles underscored the Ministry’s commitment to fostering collaborative approaches that equip young people with the skills, support and access needed to succeed.
“The development of our young people requires a coordinated national response. By strengthening partnerships among training providers, Government agencies, business-support organisations and the private sector, we can create clearer and more meaningful pathways to employment, entrepreneurship and lifelong personal development for the youth of Trinidad and Tobago,” Bradshaw-Niles said.
Technical Coordinator for Youth Affairs and National Service, Senator Daniel Rasheed, also emphasised the value of collaboration in achieving meaningful outcomes for young people.
“While collaboration is essential to ensuring that young people are provided with the necessary tools and opportunities to realise their fullest potential, it also enables us, as organisations, to maximise our resources, improve efficiencies and create more meaningful opportunities for youth across Trinidad and Tobago,” Senator Rasheed stated.
The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs remains committed to working with national partners to develop initiatives that empower young people, strengthen their capacity for self-reliance and entrepreneurship, and support their meaningful participation in Trinidad and Tobago’s social and economic development.
